The browser is really good, just not sure if I should trust the VPN. Any opinions welcome!
No. Its not even a VPN, just a proxy. And it won’t work with torrents since it only runs in the browser space.
Also it’s incredibly unsafe.
Look here for VPN comparisons.
It’s in-browser only but good enough to get into isp blocked sites and zippyshare etc.
My friend told me that Opera sold their users’ information and i’ve stepped back from Opera and then found Windscribe VPN from Firefox’s extensions. Although it has a browser extension, it can also have a desktop app, so you can use it for your Netflix to download movies. I’ve read its privacy policy, it seems good and it’s free but you must create an account to get 5 GB per month free.
If you go through Opera’s VPN policy, which I did, it says that it logs all yout information. Pretty much defeats the purpose of a VPN.
The funny thing is, there was one fun use of the vpn. Way back Opera supported p2p in the browser. There was one build that had both the built-in VPN and the p2p support, then they ripped p2p out of Opera. Even so, it wasn’t worth it due to the paragraph above.
alot of them dont work but plenty of them do.
if you want a free vpn use protonvpn not as good as paid ones but its the best of the free ones
I wouldn’t trust any free VPNs. If you’re not paying for the product you are the product.
The fact that it’s not a real VPN should be a great security concern. And the lack of a kill switch is a big problem, I think it’s essential for being safe online, in case the conection breaks. Also, might help
I use Opera Gx, I trust its VPN but is a bit slow so I start making account on proton vpn, I don’t use it since some months, when I return to home I’ll share 2 link to try if it’s a good VPN (I use them to see if proton is working, but I don’t remember their names)
