Ideas for using the Free Trial Credits?

I might give that one a try, thanks!

I do need an account with a VPN provider, if I want to change countries, though, right?

Yeah, but it would be a shame to pass on the free credits. Though I don’t have any ideas :))

Yes its true you can use mail relay but I don’t like that and yes some email can be blocked if it’s send from certain ips

Yes, I think it works that way

If you use only free resources you don’t have any risk also if you pass limits nothing bad happens instance just pause but normally it’s enough for 1 month

PiVPN is so you can VPN to your Oracle Cloud box in whatever country it is based in.

Having a VPN provider is bit different in that you can switch to different servers in different countries to unblock content and bypass geo-restrictions.

I think you’re correct.

Though the point of the post is exactly how to make better use of the free credits. They’re free

You always have he free tier, but the credits have a 30 day limit.

I’m not too concerned they’re going to charge me extra usage, I’m struggling now just to make use of the credits.

Ah, OK! That makes sense! I was thinking the other type of VPN!

That would be an awesome application, thanks.

I usually think about pfSense for the VPN, but this would be an awesome exploring opportunity.

Appreciate the suggestion

No problem. I haven’t really had any experience with pfSense but that is a firewall, router, VPN product isn’t it?

If you want just VPN, very quick and easy set up, PiVPN is definitely worth a look. You could look at PiHole as well for the ad-blocking. I’d probably install PiHole first and then add PiVPN on top of that.

Yeah, you’re right about pfsense, firewall/router more geared towards a professional setting.

I might have to look into PiHole again, I also have been overlooking it and I’m coming to the conclusion I’m in the wrong and it might be of use. Thanks for the tips!

PiHole is definitely more for the hobbyist. It is purely a network wide ad-blocker. I use it for dnsmasq as well so I can divert certain traffic to another DNS, a Smart DNS, so I can bypass geo-restrictions.
