Don't bother NordVPN, ExpressVPN Not always working. Read Text!

Hello Guys,

I have been Google around the webs the this week to find a good VPN that still works with Netflix.
I live in the Netherlands and i want to Watch Italian Netflix not just because of the content but also because i am learning the language and watching movies/series in the foreign language does help a lot

NordVPN is recommended by many websites that are looking after VPN that may still works with Netflix.
I did a little research of NordVPN and came to a conclusion that i didn’t want to use it;
The reasons are simple, many of Reddit topics are of people that complain about slow connection, random disconnect.
At this point i looked further for another VPN service. Here is when ExpressVPN got a change;

The first evening of installing ExpressVPN on my Android device was surprisingly working well,
i could watch Italian Netflix, US and others that i tried. However the next few day’s i got the well known “you are using an proxy/vpn” error within the Netflix App. So does this VPN works? Yes, just not always, and for that reason i’m out, lol.

At that point i was little bit disappointed but not surprised because most vpn services does not work anymore, not with Netflix.
Giving the doubt to NordVPN, as i read a lot negative post but those were from months old. I couldn’t seem to make a trial account so i just risked monthly fee for their services. Right after i paid i could login the VPN.

The connection was easy made. within the app and on my desktop. However i noticed something weird though within Netflix, ExpressVPN gave me a special “italian” section of movies and series, this didn’t seem to happen with NordVPN, strange. I opened a movie on my desktop and the quality started very badly like 240P i guess. Waited a few minutes to buffer up and get some better quality. This however never happened. Knowing from other post in the past of slow connected this gave me a bad feeling.

I tried to use NordVPN on my android device and right after i wanted to start a serie or movie in netflix i get this error: We cannot connect to the internet. Browsing works, other online activities works too but at a very slow connection. What a miss! From reading people’s other posts i know i won’t get my money back, luckily for me i paid only one month, still wasted money. I uninstalled the Programm on my desktop and app on my android device.

At the moment i am still looking to find a good vpn that works great with netflix, i do not want to set different DNS servers on my system or in my router. Any advice would be welcome!

TLDR: NordVPN has slow and poor connection, does not work properly with Netflix, waste of money. ExpressVPN has decent connection but doesn’t always passby the netflix vpn blockage.

Using express vpn here. Netflix us is flawless using their dns service (works on netflix us, hulu and hbo go)

Express VPN, SurfBouncer and Strong all work for me. I only use US and UK Netflix though

If Netflix Italy doesn’t work anymore you can at least get Italian dubs/subs to some programs by changing your nNetflix interface language to Italian. I have been improving my Spanish, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese and French like that. By watching dubbed programs.

I just started a trial with NordVPN and so far Netflix is only working with US content. Changing to Germany with their smart play is suppose to bring up more German and US restricted content but its not. I have a free VPN that Netflix blocked but at least that one shows me all the content I expect to see. Speed is sluggish at first but streams okay. My ISP is 200 Mbps and speed test is giving me 50Mbps with NordVPN set to Germany from US which is fantastic. ExpressVPN is another VPN I need to trial but I have spoke to them through chat and their support seems great and they have clearly answered all my questions quickly.

Lmao, this OP is an idiot. I sit on NordVPN and watch netflix all day hahah
Though I do use UK, US and Canada to watch US Netflix, so maybe OP isn’t an idiot. Just giving an incomplete analysis of their usage I guess?

Where are you from and where do you connecting to? For me it doesn’t matter much what country i use to connect because the connection is always slow. less than 1mb/s as we speak…

I just signed up for the free trial, 3mb/s down 7mb/s up.

My ISP allots me 60mb/s down 10 up.

Others have commented on the slow speeds aswell

I too use NordVPN, though I haven’t been able to access another country’s Netflix with it. Its got great download speeds imo

I get less than 1mbps speeds on NordVPN Netflix, US servers. How fast are your speeds with Netflix? Live Customer Chat doesn’t seem to be any help at all, as I’ve tried troubleshooting the issue with them various times.

Any suggestions??

Netflix US does indeed work 90% of the time, especially new Jersey 1. Netflix US is just not what I’m looking after :). PS any experience on your PC / Mac?

That is a great tip. How do i change netflix interface language? It goes automatically to my system language

I had some good experience with express VPN. Speed was okay and good connection to Netflix :slight_smile:

bottom line is nordvpn isn’t/wasn’t the best option at that time of period :slight_smile:

I don’t watch netflix on pc. On pc i use express vpn to watch bein connect and it’s perfect

On computer or netflix.com on mobile. Click your profile icon and then the “my account” tab → scroll down to find the interface language setting. The language can only be changed on the website but it’ll affect all devices. The best thing is that then you can start a program with Spanish dubs go back to the menu and change the interface language to Italian and follow it with both Italian subtitles and Spanish dubs. That’s a thing that you can really do only on Netflix. Watching dubbed content with subs of a another language or at least as efficiently. Of course you don’t necessarily need that but instead use just Italian dubs or so. I highly recommend watching content with dubs and with English subtitles. You’ll hear. I bet you can Hear better than read very quickly in Italian. I was at point at which I could understand all the dialog in Spanish but wasn’t able to read the stuff as quickly. Now I can read Spanish really quickly though but I developed that later on.

Not the content itself just the language in which the content is represented. E.g. You can have House of Cards in English but when you change the interface to Portuguese you will get subtitles and dub in Portuguese.

Do you use specific German servers? I’m getting blocked on all I have tried.
