So I don’t live in the US or Canada but I’d really like a Criterion subscription. Does it work with a vpn? Has anyone had experience with that?
I’ve been subscribed in Ireland for nearly 3 years. You only need a VPN when creating your account, once your account is live you don’t need the VPN anymore. Never had an issue, I use my normal Irish debit card I just had to confirm the transaction wasn’t fraud when the first amount came out and it’s been perfect since then.
I live in Mexico and use with vpn, also the app doesn’t need the vpn, just the browser 
I’m from the Philippines. I access Criterion on my iPad and AppleTV. I signed up since launch using my local credit card. No need for VPN to watch, just for sign up.
Same story from Japan. Sign up required VPN but no need for it since. Have not had any issues until this month. For some reason Chungking Express and In the Mood for Love aren’t showing up, despite being listed as part one of the new collections.
Hey. I know this post is old but I am trying to do this and it requires a U.S. phone number verification which I don’t have. I’m in Brazil.
I originally signed up while living in the United States, but have continued using my account while living in France, Greece, and the United Kingdom without any difficulty.
Works great in India, no VPN…
Don’t y’all feel like Criterion is purposely not enforcing geolocation very strictly because probably a huge part of their userbase is not actually in the US and Canada so both them and us just profit from this unspoken agreement?

Curious, does your account act like Canadian or American? Canadian accounts don’t get all the movies due to licensing

All good. I just hit a snag though. The Criterion Channel app is not available here. I was trying to avoid having to use a vpn on my televisions, but I guess i have no choice. Thank you.
