Context: a company in China has created locations where stray cats can eat and it’s live streamed to their app. Abusers use these locations to capture strays and torture them, but until now, these locations have been private.
Releasing this information means that no cat is safe, and the app doesn’t take any precautions to help protect these strays.

I have heard about Hello Street Cat and am very happy to know that your company takes care of stray cats.
Unfortunately, I learned about your company due to horrible videos circulating on the internet. The videos depict cats being violently tortured in gruesome ways. The people running this cat torture ring have expressed that they found some of their victims from Hello Street Cat.
Please, for the safety of these animals, I urge you to relocate your Hello Street Cat stations and not share location information so that the cats will not be found, tortured, and killed.

You know what is even worse? There are top-liked posts in social media (Zhihu, Bilibili and Tieba, which are corresponding to Quora, Youtube and Reddit) that defend them directly or indirectly. Their excuses include gems like claiming “extremist cat lovers” are “causing more social harm” than abusers.

Many of these kids are what are called as “leftover” children. These are children whose parents go off to the big cities like Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenzen in order to seek better economical prospects and leave the kids behind in their rural villages. So these kids grow up without any real role models and become little monsters. Just last week a major news made waves across china social media about a kid who was tortured to death by his classmates and buried in a shallow pit, only for the authorities to cover up the incident and deny the family to see its body.
“keeping order” and maintaining social harmony to keep the CCP in power is always going to be their primary goal. Don’t expect anything better from the chinese. Hence whenever some horrible crime is shown the number one thing they do is to make sure it doesn’t get out and punish the people who speak out aganist the crimes or atrocities.
I think ask the company to cancel those feeders could be better. cats prey birds, even cats are not hungry, cats will catch bird and torture the bird to death just for fun. And those feeders make cats become more and more, which cause many wild birds lose their lifes. As the Chinese lack of spaying and neutering the action that add cat feeders on street is just let more brids get tortured. most of our people don’t care about birds. though the abuse actions are not good, they are actually good for nature environment by saving birds.
