I wanted to play warzone with my friends who are in Asia but most lobies are 200+ ping. Sometimes when my friend host at odd hours we are put in lobby with around 100-120 ping which is much better than 200+. We suspected that these ~100 ping sever are Australians severs (we use internet ping checker and AUS come to around 100 for both of us). However, the issue is that the game wont put you into lobby if either of us host with VPN, it would stuck at finding matches forever. I have tried both NordVPN and PIA, so I think Warzone is somehow able to detect VPN and block it? When I have VPN off the game works fine.
Anyone knows a work around? Based on my research several others have had the same issue with using VPN and Warzone.
I have the same problem from Aisa. I play from Tokyo, using Nordvpn or Openvpn with Nordvpn contract, but if i enable the VPN, whatever location i choose, the game doesn’t find a single available lobby it’s completely stuck
From my own experience, VPN works but not with every location.
I tried Egypt to get no SBMM and it worked perfectly but when i tried with Georgia or UAE i was not finding any games (i’m located in France btw).
Therefore, I would suggest to try with differents locations until you found the one that works.
Try cloudflair W.A.R.P I get like maybe 10ms higher pings witch is amazing for a absolutely free vpn. Works slightly diff and I think that’s why its not blocked or slowed down and it actually more secure for in game ddosers… it dont hide your ip the same way as other vpns so the servers don’t block you. But the looking for groups and find members does not work. It just endlessly searches or closes out on you if u try to list a group. But all random que’s working perfectly with little delay I’m playing at like 30to35ms on wifi and like 40-50ms under warp. If I recall correctly this is a auzy company.
Oh ahh proto VPN also is another that’s 100% free unlimited VPN that works for COD and it doesn’t even block the LFG/find members feature. But it’s rarely faster then 80-120ms also if it’s a game that’s P2P not a server the free version won’t work. As p2p is not allowed. Also in a way making this more secure form VM and botnets
I also think that the VPN increases ping for the person using it.
When i was hosting games in Egypt I had 50ms more pin when my friends had no change.
So, VPN might not be the best solution for your ping problems.
