Can Pixel devices share their VPN connection via Hotspot?

Hi,

rather specific question to users of (more recent) Pixel devices:

Can you connect your phone to a VPN Server (ideally wireguard) and than create a hotspot which provides this VPN connection to devices that connect to the hotspot?

I really like this feature and I’m also interested in a Google Pixel. So I’d love to know if I can count on this feature on Google devices.

Not used wireguard specifically but I use this setup frequently (I just use the mullavad app) on a P8Pro and it works with no issues

Test it out.

Fire up the VPN, turn on hotspot and use your laptop or whatever to check what your public facing IP is.

You can use this site, or there are dozens of others.

Nice to hear! So you can use the phones tunnel with every device, that connects to the phones hotspot?

Yeah I know, but I’m asking just out of curiousity, since I’m considering a Google Pixel as my next phone plus my current ROM already has this feature

Yup… Every device that connects to my phone hotspot goes through the VPN.

It works for me, but I don’t use Google’s VPN. I assume they all use the same API though, so whatever you use, should be fine.
