Emphasis on free. I’m BROKE and I have nothing at all to give to antivirus subscriptions. Are there ANY free options? Ive tried google but im just confused, thanks

”) in the Free version? column.

+1 on letting Windows protect itself with Defender.
Unless you’re planning some sketchy stuff, it’s perfectly adequate.
There’s no such thing as free, outside of that. They’re all going to have to make an income to stay in business, usually through leveraging you in some way, like advertising.
Kaspersky or Bitdefender.

Windows Defender that comes Windows 11 is actually quite good.
PC magazine gave a slightly better grade to either to avg free or avast Free part of the same company. I am doing Avg free.
If you stick with Windows Defender that is totally reasonable.
I mostly did avg because I used it on an old laptop.

Why you don’t check the subreddit? You’ve tried google and should add „Reddit 2024” to your search and will get milion of advices.
Please read this. Keep your system up to date, don’t download from shady websites and use Windows Defender.

Bitdefender 3 months
I have Kaspersky free and portmaster free, portmaster seems to work ok with Kaspersky and it does work with windows firewall. I used to have Comodo free firewall but I think Kaspersky and Comodo didn’t like each other too well, I had bsods. But I also upped voltage on CPU, could be that 
None of these are free. They all have subscriptions, unless I am missing something. Kaspersky, Microsoft Defender, Bitdefender. Someone send screenshot showing they are free please

i used Kaspersky for a month then did a year of the full suit with Vpn for 18£, now I know some will say hey no way it Russian etc but so far Val putin has not tried to kill me or give me pollinum tea, but jokes aside it works and when I get my new pc in a few days that the line I will probably go down that route again but I bet it cost more than 18£ this time round lol.
Kaspersky premium is super cheap for Indians right now. Single device, you just have to pay just 700 indian rupees annually. This is the best and cheapest option I got.
I used to use Mcafee multi device protection that came with a 1 year free subscription on my device.
That one was so shitty, one time it would show a white window on the screen when I opened the app, missing interface elements, I had to uninstall and redownload it since it doesn’t come with a repair option, and another time, which was the last straw, it would never finish a full scan and hang at 99%.
I was so frustrated that I uninstalled it and got a Kaspersky premium, and I am so happy that I did.
Though it gave me a bit of trouble in providing me with an activation key even after the payment was processed, but once I got it running, it worked so fine.
My mcafee used to change my browser to yahoo.com without my consent. I play valorant on my device, and my memory would jump to 75%, and my device would become so hot. However, with Kaspersky it stops at 55 - 65 % range at all times even when there are windows update services or app update/download services running in the background!!!
On top of all the mcafee would stop me from using so many applications. it messed with my Dolby drivers. I had to install them again when one day out of nowhere my Dolby device support asked me to buy a subscription when in fact it came with a Dolby support.
Looking back now, I feel like that mcafee multi device protection was the malware in fact. I am very sceptical whether those people from the Asus authorised store provided me with a genuine article of mcafee or not.
Fre Antivirus is the one that comes with Windows.
