AVG free trial is asking for credit card. Am I doing something wrong?

Everyone says use AVG free trial. I go to the website and click on the free trial button no CC needed

Then I run the exe and install. When I press the button to turn on the VPN this window that has a start free trial button pops up

Then the step by step will not allow me to move forward unless I put in a CC

What am i missing? is this normal? am i doing something wrong?

No surprise given the massive amount of people who abused this in order to get free VPN service.

They “fixed” the infinite free trial loop. You get 60 days for free now, just make sure you cancel before

This is new. They did an update this week.

I’m using the same installer and I can’t find any ‘new’ extra files so I guess this new stuff is being initiated by the phone home at installation. Anyone else find a way round it?

To be fair(rrrrr), it’s had a pretty good run for the last six months. I might just give them some money. The annual price is a lot more reasonable than that scary shit on the free trial page.

same exact problem happened to me just a few hrs ago when I tried re-installing the unlimited AVG juice, so I did some research:

VPN4Test or DewVPN. I went with dew because test asked my permission to install a driver which was enough to ring the suspicion alarm in my head. So I installed dew and LARU is working, for now…

Let me know if anyone else tries the vpns I mentioned above (free btw, ofc) and runs into any sort of problems. Oh, and stay away from UrbanVPN, they are very untrustworthy from what I read it seems…

I have never encountered a free vpn thats worth a damn, they either cap bandwidth or do other scummy practices like sell your data.

FYI you can cancel immediately and still use the product for 60 days. I just did so.

Just downloaded it and having no issues, seems to work better than AVG did.

West Coast USA - Mudfish is what I use. 3$ got around 3 gigs of traffic. Heavy use since beta end and I’ve used 20 cents.
